The first engine given to the MINI One was a 1.4-Liter Tritec engine that produced 74 bhp and 122 Nm of torque. However, later on, constant progress made the engines more responsive and efficient as was the case with the 1.5-Liter petrol engine. it can produce up to 75 hp between 3500-6500 rpm and 160 Nm torque between 1250-3000 rpm. It could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 12.7 sec and the top speed is 106 mph.

A more powerful version was with the same displacement of 1.5-Liter that was able to produce 102 bhp between 3900-6500 rpm and 190 Nm between 1350-3600 rpm. It could travel between 0-60 in 9.8 seconds and the top speed is 119.3 mph. it gives a combined average of 21 km/l.

A diesel version of 1.5-Liter displacement produces 116 hp at 4000 rpm and 270 Nm between 1750-2250. It could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 11 seconds and a top speed of 120 mph. it returns a combined average of 24 km/l.
