Engine Work Details
The Range Rover Sport was brought to our workshop for inspection following a serious engine failure. During the inspection, we identified severe crankshaft damage following the failure of the oil pump. The damage has also affected the engine block's main bearing housing, meaning the original engine is beyond economical repair and will require replacement.
Further inspection identified considerable oil contamination on the inlet side of both turbochargers, together with heavy carbon deposits throughout the inlet and EGR systems. This has raised concerns regarding the condition of the DPF and associated exhaust components.
Oil contamination was also found throughout the cooling system. The complete cooling system will therefore require a thorough flush, along with the replacement of several components to ensure the system is properly cleaned and operating correctly.
The required repair work includes:

- All necessary service parts and ancillary components
Replacing these components at this stage will help provide a complete, reliable and long-lasting repair while reducing the risk of further issues once the vehicle is returned to the road.
